Teaching consumer and financial literacy
Consumer and financial literacy is a core skill for full
participation in our society. It is a significant key to the
emotional and financial health of individuals, families and our
national and international economy.
This professional learning module gives a general overview and
history of consumer and financial literacy education in Australia
and examines how it links to the Australian Curriculum. It also
provides examples of how to implement consumer and financial
literacy programs in classrooms.
A three-part learning module
The module will take about 3 hours to complete and can be
completed in three separate sessions:
- Section 1: About consumer and
financial literacy
- Section
2: What are schools doing?
- Section
3: How can I teach consumer and financial
literacy?
You will need to complete the evaluation task at the end of each
section to receive your Certificate of Completion.
